A zipper pull is the small but decisive detail attached to the zipper slider, and often the first part of a garment a customer actually touches. At Elif Tekstil Aksesuarları, our production facility in Bağcılar, Istanbul makes 16-spindle tight-braided cord pulls, striped pulls and injection-tipped pulls. In this guide you will find the main zipper pull types, how to match them correctly to your zipper, the custom color and logo options available to your brand, and the steps we follow from order to delivery, so that together we can choose the best model for your collection.
Request a quoteOur Own Braiding Production
We braid the cord body of our zipper pulls in-house on 16-spindle braiding machines. This keeps yarn selection, braid density and color sequence under our control from start to finish, and lets us maintain the same hand feel throughout mass production.
Custom Brand Colors
We match colors from a color card code or a fabric swatch and finalize the shades that fit your collection palette, for both cord and injection pulls, through sample approval. Black, striped and multicolor combinations are all possible.
Logo and Laser Engraving
With options such as an embossed logo molded into injection tips or laser engraving on metal parts, we turn a small accessory into a brand signature. The application method is decided together with you, based on your design and the shape of the pull.
Domestic and Export Supply
With more than ten years of experience, we supply zipper pulls to domestic and international brands. Our import and export background allows us to offer products, labeling and packaging solutions that meet the expectations of different markets.
The hand that opens the zipper meets your brand first through that small pull, which is why a zipper pull is never just an ordinary part.
A Small Detail That Leaves a Strong Brand Impression
When you open the zipper on a coat, a backpack or a track jacket, the part your fingers grab is very often the zipper pull. Used instead of, or together with, a standard metal pull tab, it makes the zipper easier to grip, stays comfortable to use even with gloves on, and adds a visual signature to the product. For designers, the zipper pull is the finishing touch that completes the color story of a collection; for buyers, it is a functional component that can affect return rates. A pull that snaps, bleeds color or frays at the end makes customers question the quality of the entire product. That is why material, braid structure and the tip finishing method deserve as much attention as appearance when you choose a zipper pull.
At Elif Tekstil Aksesuarları, cord zipper pull production is a natural extension of our expertise in drawcord manufacturing. The cord that forms the body is produced as a tight braid on 16-spindle machines; this structure keeps the cord soft in the hand while allowing it to hold its shape under tension. Once the cord is cut to the required length, the ends are secured by injection molding or, on request, by other methods depending on how the product will be used. For injection pulls, molten thermoplastic material is pressed into a mold to form a durable head that encloses the end of the cord. Because all of these steps take place under one roof, we can keep color, dimensions and quality consistent throughout mass production.
To choose the right zipper pull, start by thinking about how the product will be used. On a product worn with gloves, such as a ski jacket, a longer and more prominent pull that is easy to grip makes sense, whereas a leather wallet or the pocket of a tailored jacket calls for a simple model with a fine cord. Brightly colored injection tips attract attention in kidswear, while striped braids reinforce a sense of movement in sportswear. The zipper size, the hole size of the slider tab and the weight of the fabric also have a direct impact on the choice. Our team reviews these variables with you and recommends the best combination based on samples.
Zipper Pull Types and the Products They Suit
The zipper pull family takes on different characters depending on the body material and the tip finishing method. The types below form the core of our production range, and each one can easily be adapted to your brand in terms of color, length and logo.
- 01
Tight-Braided Cord Zipper Pull
A zipper pull with a cord body produced as a tight braid on 16-spindle machines. Flexible, lightweight and soft in the hand, it is the most popular type, letting wearers grip the zipper effortlessly on jackets, sweatshirts, bags and sportswear.
- 02
Striped Braided Zipper Pull
A striped look is created by arranging yarns in two or more colors in a set sequence on the braiding machine. Contrasting combinations such as black and white add a dynamic sense of movement to sportswear and streetwear collections.
- 03
Fine Cord Zipper Pull
Braided from finer yarn, this model offers a clean, elegant look. It is used on small zippers such as wallets, handbags, card holders and inner jacket pockets as a stylish finishing touch that does not weigh the product down.
- 04
Injection-Tipped Zipper Pull
A thermoplastic head molded onto the end of the cord gives the pull both a gripping surface and an area of color. With the option of an embossed logo built into the mold, it becomes a long-lasting zipper detail with high brand visibility.
- 05
Custom-Designed Zipper Pull
These are models whose color, length, tip shape and logo application are defined entirely by your design. Our design team and sample department work together to turn your drawing or reference product into a zipper pull that can be manufactured.

Where is it used?
Key applications for Zipper Pulls.
Coats and Outerwear
On heavy coats, parkas and vests, zipper pulls that can be gripped easily even with gloves on in cold weather noticeably improve the user experience and give the product a finished look.
Sportswear and Tracksuits
On track tops, windbreakers and training jackets, striped or colored zipper pulls complete the dynamic lines of the collection and make it easier to open and close the zipper quickly.
Bags and Backpacks
On backpacks, waist bags and travel bags, zipper pulls make it easier to tell multiple compartments apart, and their durable construction keeps them working through frequent use for a long time.
Shoes and Boots
On zippered boots, sneakers and tall boots, a zipper pull makes putting shoes on and taking them off more practical; short, sturdy models add function without spoiling the silhouette of the shoe.
Wallets and Small Leather Goods
On small items such as wallets, card holders, makeup bags and pencil cases, fine cord zipper pulls become a subtle detail whose elegant look raises the perceived value of the product.
Kidswear Collections
On children’s coats and bags, brightly colored injection-tipped pulls help small hands grip the zipper easily; the length is determined in line with the relevant safety rules.
Customization Options for Your Zipper Pull Order
What makes a zipper pull truly yours is getting many seemingly small decisions right. Once you have defined your preferences under the headings below, we move into the sampling stage with a much clearer brief, reduce the need for revisions and speed up the whole process.
About custom manufacturing- 01
Color and Color Combination
You can choose between a single color, a two-color striped braid or a multicolor braid pattern. Colors are matched from a fabric swatch or a color card code and approved with a sample before mass production.
- 02
Length and Cord Thickness
The overall length of the pull and the cord diameter are determined by the size of the zipper and how the product is used. Longer, thicker models are preferred for outerwear, and shorter, finer ones for small leather goods.
- 03
Tip Finishing Method
An injection-molded tip is the most common solution, preventing the cord from fraying and creating a wide gripping surface. Different tip shapes, colors and alternative finishing methods are planned project by project to suit the style of your product.
- 04
Logo and Branding
Options include an embossed logo built into the injection head mold, laser engraving on metal parts, and brand details that stand out through color contrast. Logo legibility is tested on a sample before mass production.
- 05
Attachment and Packaging
Zipper pulls can be supplied as loose parts or, on request, already attached to the zipper slider. The packaging and counting method that suits your production line is agreed with you before the order.
Compare Zipper Pull Types
To help you quickly see which type of zipper pull suits your collection, we have put the key criteria side by side. The final decision becomes clear at the sampling stage, taking into account your product type and brand language.
| Criterion | Tight-braided cord pull | Injection-tipped pull | Metal pull tab |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand feel | Soft and flexible | Semi-rigid, substantial | Rigid, cold to the touch |
| Ease of grip | High | Very high | Medium |

- 1
Brief and Needs Analysis
We listen to you about the product type, zipper model, target audience and brand colors. Sharing reference images, a fabric swatch or a technical drawing helps us identify the right type of zipper pull from the very first step.
- 2
Design and Color Matching
Our design team defines the length, cord thickness, braid pattern and tip shape. Colors are matched against a color card or fabric, and if a logo is required, the mold or laser file is prepared.
- 3
Sample Production
Our sample department turns the approved design into a physical sample. We recommend that you try the sample on your own zipper and fabric, assess the color and hand feel in daylight, and share any revision notes with us if needed.
- 4
Mass Production and Inspection
After sample approval, braiding, cutting, tip finishing and, where required, attachment are carried out in series. Color consistency, dimensions and tip strength are checked regularly throughout production.
- 5
Packaging and Shipping
Zipper pulls are counted and carefully packed in a way that suits your production line. Domestic and international shipments are organized according to your order schedule, and delivery information is shared with you in advance and on a regular basis.
Zipper Pull Quality Control and Usage Tips
- Before mass production, always pull on the tip by hand to make sure the cord does not slip out of the head.
- For combinations of dark and light colors, we recommend testing a sample for color bleeding after washing.
- Determine the pull length by trying it on the actual product, according to the zipper size and the way the product is used.
- Share the hole size of the slider tab in advance; a loop that passes through easily noticeably speeds up attachment work.
- For children’s products, always have the pull length and tip shape checked against the relevant safety rules.
- Keeping the zipper closed during washing greatly reduces the risk of the pull catching in the drum and wearing out.
Zipper Pulls: your questions answered
Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Our team is happy to help.
What is a zipper pull and what does it do?
A zipper pull is a cord, string or injection-headed part attached to the zipper slider that you hold when opening and closing the zipper. Compared with a standard metal pull tab, it offers a larger gripping area, makes the zipper easier to use with gloves on, and gives the product a brand identity through color or a logo. It is used as both a functional and a decorative accessory on coats, bags, footwear and sportswear.
Do you manufacture zipper pulls in our brand colors and with our logo?
Yes. Working with our design team and sample department, we define the color, length, cord thickness and tip shape of the zipper pulls to suit your brand. Colors are matched from a fabric swatch or a color card code. The logo can be embossed into the injection head mold or applied by laser engraving on suitable parts. All details are submitted for your approval on a sample before mass production.
Is there a minimum order quantity for wholesale zipper pulls?
Order quantities vary depending on the type of pull, the number of colors, and whether a custom mold or logo is needed. For this reason, rather than a fixed quantity, we create a plan tailored to your project. Once you share your product type, estimated requirement and color breakdown, our team prepares the most suitable production and delivery plan and sends it to you together with a quotation.
Which zipper types can a zipper pull be attached to?
Zipper pulls can be used with the vast majority of metal, molded plastic (Vislon) and coil zippers. What matters is the hole size and shape of the pull tab on the slider. With the loop knot method, the cord needs to pass through this hole easily; some models use a split ring. If you share your zipper sample or slider dimensions, we will determine the right cord thickness and attachment method together.
Should I choose a cord zipper pull or an injection zipper pull?
The choice depends on the character of your product. Cord zipper pulls are soft, light and quiet, and they look natural on sportswear, bags and everyday products. Injection-tipped models provide a fuller gripping surface and the option of an embossed logo, which makes them stand out in outerwear and kidswear collections. If you are undecided, we recommend comparing samples of both types on your product.
Are your zipper pulls washable?
The polyester yarn and tight braid structure commonly used in our zipper pulls help preserve shape and color through normal home washing. Even so, for striped models that combine dark and light colors, or for custom colors, we recommend running a wash test at the sampling stage. Washing with the zipper closed and avoiding high temperatures are simple but effective ways to extend the life of the pull.
What information should I share when ordering zipper pulls?
The product type, the type and size of the zipper to be used, your preferred pull length, your color preferences and your logo file, if any, all speed up the quotation and sampling process. Sending a reference product or fabric swatch makes color matching easier. With this information, our design team presents suitable options, shares any alternative suggestions and draws up the sampling plan.
